What you can see moving
Thin brass rods rise from the pale wood base and hold the turtle in the air.
Each flipper is pinned at the shoulder, so it sweeps forward and back instead of flapping up and down.
The shell stays almost still. The flippers do the work, the way a real turtle rows through open water.
